Biography
Training: I train twice a day at the TapouT center with Shawn Tompkins and Ferrid Kheder. I train everything and do a lot of sparring. I like to spar hard because it simulates the fight.
When and why did you start training for fighting? 1998. I loved to watch UFC so I decided to start.
What ranks and titles have you held? Shooto European champion and BJJ European champion. Shooto world Ranking: 4th
Do you have any heroes? No
What is your favorite technique? Kneebar
What does it mean for you to fight in the WEC? It’s a huge opportunity
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Yes 2nd degree
What was your job before you started fighting? Sport teacher
Most memorable professional fight (who, where, why)? My fight for the European Shooto title in Belgium against Marc Duncan. It gave me the opportunity to get a title and to fight in Japan too.
What was your most challenging professional fight (against who, when, what was the outcome)? My fight in Japan against Takashi Nakakura.
Did you compete in any other sport(s) at college or professional level (what sport, where, how long)? Grappling, BJJ, Wrestling...
Who were your training partners for this fight? Ferrid Kheder, Sebastien Garguier and all my teammates at the Tapout training center in Las Vegas
Did you put more emphasis towards a fighting style or adjust your training to prepare for your opponent (what did you do differently/why)? No, I don’t change my style. I fight my fight.
What, other than WINNING, are you using for motivation for the fight? After my last fight I want to prove to the WEC that I am a legitimate contender.
What is your favorite thing about this sport? Submissions
How long do you see yourself staying in this sport? I don t know really but for sure more than five years....
