Training: A day for me starts out with a 6:30- 2 mile run, then a quick bite to eat before I head to the gym @ 9-11 for conditioning with Hughes. After a hardy lunch and short NAP it’s back to the gym @ 2 for weight training with Todd Laux and then technique with our Thai coach @ 3. Then another short rest before our pro classes, that could be either wrestling, grappling, or sparring depending on the day of the week. I finish the day off with a great meal and a protein shake before bed.
When and why did you start training for fighting? My brother died in ‘06 and I needed something positive to channel my anger and aggressions toward.
What ranks and titles have you held? MOTC Welterweight Title
Do you have any heroes? My Grandfather
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It means a lot. I’m excited and grateful to get to bring the skills I have to the biggest organization in the world.
What was your job before you started fighting? My brother and I worked together in a bed factory, loading trucks for 3 or 4 years. He died, I quit!
Favorite grappling technique: No favorites, I hate attempts but love to finish!
Favorite Striking technique: Spinning back fist ; )
