When and why did you start training for fighting? I always wanted to be Kakutou-ka (a fighter) but don't really remember the reason why. I just wanted to be strong, I guess.
What ranks and titles have you held? I am a 2nd degree black belt in Judo.
Do you have any heroes? No one in particular.
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? I’m fighting in the best league in the world.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I didn't attend college.
What was your job before you started fighting? I still work as a salesperson.
Specific accomplishments in amateur competition? Won 2010 All Japan Shooto Amateur Championship
Specific accomplishments in pro competition? 2011 Rookie of the Year in Shooto. In 2013, won Bantamweight PXC (Pacific Xtreme Combat) title by defeating Crisanto Pitpitunge, and defended a title in the same year against Kyle Aguon, then signed with UFC.
