Biography

When and why did you start training for fighting? When I finished my university wrestling career I felt lost and wanted to continue in sport. I turned to fighting and have never looked back. It is the greatest sport in the world.

What ranks and titles have you held? In 2002 I was ranked 2nd world wide for IKF amateur kickboxing. I have won the Canadian Open Jiu-Jitsu Championships 3 times and I have numerous provincial and Canadian wrestling titles.

Do you have any heroes? My hero is my father who passed away seven years ago.

What is your favorite technique? Ground and pound.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? The UFC is the greatest fight organization in the world. I am honored to be part of it. It is the Super Bowl of fighting and it has been my goal since day one to be a UFC fighter.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I have two degrees. I have a double major in English and Psychology from the University of Western Ontario. I also have a bachelor of education from Lakehead University.

What was your job before you started fighting? I was a police officer and I am currently employed with the best police force in the world: Toronto Police Service. It is the best job in the world and Toronto is a world class organization and city.
