Biography

Training: A typical day of training is a good mix of standup, ground work and wrestling with MMA. I’ve prepared to be the best Scott Jorgensen there is, like I always do. We trained a well rounded game plan, and tried not to deviate from what I do best while still working on the new stuff that’s crushing people right now. You can never train too hard.

What is your favorite technique?  I enjoy takedowns and dirty boxing, both on my feet and on the ground, but I will take victory no matter how I secure it.  I’m going to find a way to win.

What does it mean for you to fight in the WEC? In small shows, it is hard to see the pay off of all the hard work at that level.  The WEC gave me a home and a pay off I will soon be able to see, hold and spend for all my hard work.  I will take full advantage of my opportunity and rise to be the best. It feels good to be with the best lightweight organization in the world.

Did you go to college? I earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology.

Did you compete in any other sports? I wrestled for Boise State University from 02 to 06.

Who were your training partners for this fight? All my teammates at Twisted Genetiks and Combat Fitness here in Boise, including Joe Warren and Kit Cope. I also trained out at ATT a bit.

What is your motivation for the fight? I’ve got something to prove and I want to show that I’m the better fighter. I’m more well-rounded, more exciting, and just a better fighter. I want to show that I deserve the next shot at the title and that I’m that guy.

How long do you see yourself staying in this sport? I'll fight till I don’t have fun with MMA anymore.  I do this for fun. When it stops being fun I'll stop.
