Biography

TRAINING: I train MMA on the TATAMI every day.

When and why did you start training to become a fighter? I turned pro in 2005

What ranks and titles have you held? The first BUSHIDO FC Featherweight Championship.  Ranked #2 at bantamweight in Pancrase.

Do you have any heroes? Hideo Tokoro. Before I watched his fights, I believed that MMA is a dangerous sport. Now, he made me to change to think that MMA is an enjoyable sport.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? I still cannot imagine it since I have not fought in the UFC Octagon yet. I just want to make people who support me like my family and teammates happy.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Yes. I went there for five years (usually, we can finish in four years in Japan). My major was economy but I still do not get it. (Laughs)

What was your job before you started fighting? I am working as a trainer and an internet shop organizer.

Favorite grappling technique: Too many – I can’t name one

Favorite striking technique: Karate Shipoke Tsuki because it is cool. OSS!!!
