When and why did you start training for fighting? I have a lot of pent up rage from being the nerdy kid, and I wanted to unleash some of that. I met up with my coaches about a year ago (April, '06) and they tested me out. I kept getting better and they took me under their wings to mold me into the fighter I am today. They're my big brothers, beating on me until I get better. I owe a lot of my success to them.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It goes to show that you should never judge a book by its cover. A year ago, everyone was like "what are you doing? You're not going to make it". Now I've made it to the biggest organization in the sport and it is a great feeling achieving a goal you set forth for yourself. I achieved something that most thought would never be possible for me. When I got the call and the contract, I was ecstatic but not shocked. I knew I would make it, and I always believed in myself. I have found myself. This is my calling.
