Biography
TRAINING: It depends on the day - mostly MMA or kickboxing or wrestling sparring in the morning, then strength and conditioning training in the mid day, and finish up with either some technique and jiu- jitsu drills or mitt and bag work. Then I chill and wait for the next day.
When and why did you start training for fighting? I was born a fighter, born competitive, and I’ve been training pretty much my entire life. I always thought I was a badass, and then I finally found the proving grounds.
What ranks and titles have you held? Brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, numerous jiu-jitsu titles
Do you have any heroes? My parents are my biggest heroes, they gave me a great life and a unlimited amount of support, and of course Jesus.
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It’s a dream come true. This is what I worked for all my life. It’s go hard or go home now, and I’m about to go hard.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Yep, College of Hard Knocks and I earned a degree in asswhoopafication.
What was your job before you started fighting? Stone mason
Specific accomplishments in amateur competition? Ranked number one 135er and 125er in the region
Specific accomplishments in pro competition? Ranked number one 135er and 125er in the region since 2007
Favorite grappling technique: 10 finger guillotine
Favorite Striking technique: Overhand right, bombs away
