Biography

TRAINING: Every day of training has its own theme. It varies from opponent to opponent, and from day to day; but there is always consistency in trying to evolve, raise the level of performance, and stay healthy.

Thoughts on opponent, Edson Barboza?
I think that Edson is a very game opponent. Fighting a name like Edson is going to put me in the spotlight, which is exactly where I want to be. I think we make for an exciting matchup, and I look forward to testing myself, once again, in the UFC on January 19, 2013.

What ranks and titles have you held? Victory Fighting Lightweight Champion, Fight to Win Lightweight Champion, Full Force Lightweight Champion

Do you have any heroes? Dan Gable, Cael Sanderson

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It is a dream come true. This is why I got into this sport. I want to fight the toughest guys in the world and the UFC is where that can happen.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I wrestled for the University of Wyoming 2000-2003, never finished school. I cut my collegiate career short to pursue MMA

What was your job before you started fighting?
Worked in the Trona Mines in Green River, Wyoming

Specific accomplishments in amateur competition? 2x WY H.S. State Champion wrestler, 2x H.S. All-American, Dave Schultz H.S. Hall of Fame award, NCAA D1 Varsity wrestler
