Biography

TRAINING: I’m in New Mexico for this camp, so we train three times a day, Mon-Fri and once on Sat.

Thoughts on opponent, Ross Pearson? I think Ross is a very tough dude with sharp hands. He's been in plenty of battles and I think we are up for another Fight of the Night bonus.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I have done martial arts since I was 12. I was always super competitive and hated losing. Once MMA picked up it was a matter of time before I got involved.

What ranks and titles have you held? I am the CFFC Lightweight champion, 2nd degree black belt in taekwondo, blue belt in BJJ.

Do you have any heroes? My family.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It means I get to really start my career. In my opinion I'm 0-0 now. I didn't make it yet. This is just a baby step.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Yes. University of the Arts. I actually went to acting school!

What was your job before you started fighting? Bouncing, bartending, stuff like that.

Favorite grappling technique: The kind where you get back up!

Favorite striking technique: Spinning back kick

• Pro since 2011

• Seven wins by KO

• Two first round finishes

• Holds wins over TUF alums Julian Lane and Marc Stevens

• Origin of nickname – “I got the name because I grew up in a tough Irish-Catholic neighborhood in south Philadelphia, and I have done traditional martial arts such as Karate and Taekwondo.”
