Biography
When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training back in 2007 in my senior year of high school. I saw a commercial for a PPV UFC event, so I went to go watch it and fell in love with the sport. I didn’t know what MMA was until then.
What ranks and titles have you held? None
Do you have any heroes? Batman / Superman. I loved watching them growing up as a kid.
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It means everything to me. This is what I’ve been working so hard for. Almost 10 years in the sport and I finally got in. Now I just have to show why I belong in the UFC on August 20.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? No
What was your job before you started fighting? I’ve had a bunch of jobs while fighting. I worked at my dad’s pizza place while I was in high school and that’s when I started. I also worked construction, restaurants, bars, clubs, security and the only one that allowed me to train full time was me being an entertainer (dancer) for women. That was my job for a little over three years. Those days are over. (Laughs)
• Eight wins by KO, two by submission (Guillotine, kimura)
• Five first round finishes
• Has won three of his last six
• Most recent win was knockout of PRIDE / UFC vet Jorge Patino on 8/5/16
