Maia-Covington one of five bouts added to Sao Paulo card

Sao Paulo’s favorite fighting son, Demian Maia, will fight in his hometown for the first time since 2014 when he faces fellow welterweight contender Colby Covington at Ginásio do Ibirapuera on Oct. 28.

UFC Fight Night, which is headlined by the return of Lyoto Machida against Derek Brunson, will air live on FS1.

Also announced for the card were four bouts ranging from heavyweight to flyweight.

In the heavyweight division, unbeaten Brazilian newcomer Carlos Felipe will make his first walk to the Octagon when he takes on Christian Colombo.

Former TUF Brazil winner Antonio Carlos Junior will attempt to extend his three-fight winning streak when he squares off with Wales' Jack "The Hammer" Marshman.

A recent graduate of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, Boston Salmon makes his UFC debut in a bantamweight clash with Augusto Mendes, and in the 125-pound weight class, Deiveson Alcantara battles Jarred Brooks.
