Gold Coast Venue Confirmed for UFC on FX Event in Australia

GOLD COAST VENUE CONFIRMED FOR UFC ON FX EVENT IN AUSTRALIA

DECEMBER 15 EVENT TO FEATURE THE SMASHES COACHES AND FINALISTS
Sydney – Australia: On the eve of the premiere episode of The Ultimate Fighter: Australia vs UK – The Smashes™, the Ultimate Fighting Championship® organisation has today announced that the UFC on FX: Sotiropoulos vs Pearson event in Australia will be held at the Gold Coast Convention and Entertainment Centre on Saturday, December 15, 2012.
 
The event will be broadcast LIVE from midday on FX and will be headlined by The Ultimate Fighter: Australia vs UK – The Smashes coaches, England’s Ross Pearson (15-6-0) and Australia’s George Sotiropoulos (14-4-0), who will meet in the lightweight division.
 
The card will also feature the anticipated match-up between by ‘adopted’ Aussie Hector Lombard (31-3-1, 1 NC) and submission specialist, Rousimar 'Toquinho' Palhares (23-4-0) and The Smashes finalists in the welterweight and lightweight divisions.
 
The Ultimate Fighter: Australia vs. UK – The Smashes is set to premiere on FX (channel 123 on FOXTEL), on Wednesday, September 19, 7.30pm AEST. A teaser for the show can be viewed here http://youtu.be/-fnw1GZy-no. (The show will also be broadcast in the UK Wednesday nights at midnight.)
 
Also confirmed for the UFC on FX card is a bout between two explosive light heavyweights: Ednaldo ‘Lula’ Oliveira (13-1-1, 1 NC) vs Krzysztof ‘The Polish Experiment’ Soszynski (22-13-1).
