Who's the Heavyweight Champ?

"At UFC 166 on Oct. 19, 2013, Cain Velasquez battered Junior Dos Santos to win by fifth round stoppage in their trilogy fight to retain the UFC heavyweight championship.
"During the fight, Velasquez suffered a torn labrum and was going to be out for about a year. In April 2014, the UFC announced Velasquez would defend his title against Fabricio Werdum at UFC 180 last November. Three weeks before the fight, Velasquez injured his knee in training. The UFC made an interim title fight with Mark Hunt stepping in to face Werdum. After a shaky first round, Werdum landed a perfect knee to Hunt's chin and was able to stop him to win the interim belt.
"After 602 days away from The Octagon, Velasquez finally returns to face off against Werdum for the undisputed heavyweight championship in the main event of Saturday's UFC 188.
"Considering it was such a long layoff, questions were raised on why the UFC didn't strip Velasquez of the title. In the time Velasquez was absent, Werdum dominated Travis Browne in April of 2014 before battering Hunt. Those two wins, the inactivity of Velasquez and his winning five straight fights, "Vai Cavalo" feels he should already be the undisputed champion."
