UFC Fight Night: Cyborg vs Lansberg main card
Main event: Cris Cyborg defeats Lina Lansberg
Cris Cyborg turned in another dominant performance, finishing Lina Lansberg by TKO at 2:29 of the second round. Lansberg survived in the first round, forcing Cyborg into the clinch where she is most comfortable. But when they separated Cyborg landed big shots and landed a takedown that resulted in some big ground and pound. Lansberg got the fight back up but in the second Cyborg poured it on and got it down to the ground again and landed a barrage that forced the referee to stop the fight.

Co-main: Renan Barao defeats Phillipe Nover
Renan Barao picked up his first win at featherweight in his second fight at 145 pounds against Phillipe Nover with a unanimous decision, 29-28, 29-28, 30-27. Barao looked more comfortable at his new weight class and the result showed that as he landed almost double the amount of significant strikes (64-39) and took Nover down three times while cruising to the decision win.
Roy Nelson defeats Bigfoot Silva
Roy Nelson knocked down Bigfoot Silva with a huge overhand right that he was aiming to land all fight and then swarmed for the TKO finish at 4:10 of the second round. He landed six big bombs on the ground before referee John McCarthy stepped in to call the fight. That’s the fifth knockout loss for Silva in the last two years and Nelson wins his second of the last three fights.
They said it:
Roy Nelson: This is what we do. We fight, we get a KO and put on a show for the fans. As soon as I knew I hit 'Bigfoot,' he was already out. I got to punch him six more times, and I don´t think he needed this.”
Bigfoot Silva: “That is how heavyweight is. It is too fast – the referee can’t even know if we are OK or not. Congratulations to Roy, who already proved to be a knockout artist. I think I won the first round and was winning the second. But a fight is a fight, and those things happen.“
Francisco Trinaldo defeats Paul Felder
Francisco Trinaldo opened up a gory cut over the right eye of Paul Felder and the fight had to be stopped by TKO due to doctor’s stoppage at 2:25 of the third round. Trinaldo landed the only takedown of the fight and out-landed Felder 42-38, but it was a huge elbow that was the beginning of the end for Felder as Trinaldo extends win streak to seven, which is the second-longest active streak in the lightweight division behind Tony Ferguson.

Francisco Trinaldo: “We always think we could have fought better, but I am happy with the win. I think I could have gotten a better TKO in the third round, but I won. The crowd liked it, and in the end, that is what matters. “
Eric Spicely defeats Thiago Santos
Eric Spicely pulled off the shocking upset with against Thiago Santos with a first-round submission win (rear naked choke at 2:58). Spicely landed a takedown in the first two minutes of the fight and then worked on the ground until he took Santos’ back and sunk in the choke to get the win. Santos was forced to tap almost immediately. Spicely was a 5-1 underdog.

Godofredo Pepey defeats Mike De La Torre
Godofredo Pepey was willing to bang on the feet with Mike De La Torre as the first few minutes were a stand and bang showcase. But as the punches started to land Pepey started to pull ahead. Then he got the fight to the ground and took De La Torre’s back and sunk in a rear naked choke to win by rear naked choke at 3:03 of the first round.

Michel Prazeres defeats Gilbert Burns
Michel Prazeres dominated Gilbert Burns in every area of the fight, out-landing him 70-46 and 67-46 (significant strikes) and posting five takedowns on his way to a unanimous decision victory (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

Michel Prazeres: “I campaigned for this fight on my social media, and today I showed why. 'Durinho' is a great fighter – I am a fan – but he can never underestimate an athlete. He said he was an F100 and I was an economical car. Today the economical car beat the F100. “
Gilbert Burns: “I left him feeling comfortable. I did not move as much as I should. The first round was pretty even, but I let him get more comfortable from the second on. Now it is the time to fix the mistakes, work hard and get better.”
Rani Yahya defeats Michinori Tanaka
Rani Yahya outlasted Michinori Tanaka by unanimous decision, landing seven takedowns en route to a 29-28, 29-28, 29-28.

Rani Yahya: “I did not like my performance. I got tired at the beginning when I tried to sink it in and finish the fight with the Katagatame. I left my strength there. I started to fight for the result. I wanted to leave the fight with my arm raised.”
Jussier Formiga defeats Dustin Ortiz
Jussier Formiga won the war on the ground against Dustin Ortiz in a grappling back-and-forth, controlling Ortiz for 9:11 compared to just 2:56 to pick up the unanimous decision victory (30-27, 29-27, 29-28).

Jussier Formiga: “I could have done better, but he defended really well. Now I want to rest and fight again next year. Whatever opponent they bring me, I will be satisfied, but if I can choose, just bring me the champion.”
Dustin Ortiz: “I 100 percent agree with the results. Am I 100 percent comfortable with that? No, not it all. He did all he could do out there not to lose. He did not try to finish it, put on an exciting fight. He won, but it’s all he did. ”
Erick Silva defeats Luan Chagas
Erick Silva took advantage of an opening when Luan Chagas tried for a double leg takedown deep in the third round. Silva defended and found Chagas out of position, so he quickly jumped to his back from an awkward position and immediately sank in a rear naked choke for the submission win at 3:57 of the third round.

I decided that everything that happened in the past was a learning process. But I feel like I am starting from scratch. It is a new Erick. Today was just the beginning.”

Alan Patrick defeats Stevie Ray
Alan Patrick mauled Stevie Ray and neutralized his standup, landing five takedowns in the fight to cruise to the unanimous decision win (29-28, 29-28, 30-27).
They said it:
Alan Patrick: “I used the strategy that I trained– that was to bring the fight to the ground. We imagined that he would feel the pressure, and he did. I wish I had finished the fight to guarantee the performance bonus. But I am happy. A win is a win."
Stevie Ray: “I am going to go back, watch the fight, and hopefully be back soon.”
Vicente Luque defeats Hector Urbina
Vicente Luque folded up Hector Urbina like an accordion with a perfect overhand right to earn the KO at 1:00 of the first round. Urbina was stuffed on a takedown right out of the gate and then Luque opened up. It was a short counter left and follow up right hook that started Urbina backing up and Luque sensed he had rocked him. He swarmed in and ducked a big punch from Urbina and landed the KO blow in highlight reel fashion.

Vicente Luque: “My plan was to have a standup fight because this is something that I’ve been evolving every day. I knew that my opponent had the same plan, and there is nothing better than ending a fight with a KO. I want to keep fighting tough fighters. The perfect scenario now would be to fight a top-15 fighter next. I fight anywhere, against anyone. Just let me rest for two weeks, and I will be ready for the next one.”
Gregor Gillespie defeats Glaico Franca
Gregor Gillespie landed six takedowns and controlled Glaico Franca for 11:06 of the 15 minutes of their fight to earn the unanimous decision win (29-27, 29-27, 29-27). Gillespie attempted 19 takedowns in the fight and his grinding style won out as Franca out-struck Gillespie 54-32 in significant strikes. But Gillespie used enough technique on the feet to get the fight to his world, where he dominated to collect the victory in his debut.

Gregor Gillespie: “It was an awesome experience, better than I thought it would be. I usually don’t get emotional after wins, but this was my first UFC fight. I only got my first professional fight two years ago, and from day one I dreamed about coming to the UFC.”
Glaico Franca: “I did not do what I planned to. Now I think it’s time to think about moving up to welterweight. I cut a lot of weight, and I think I could be a better fighter in another division. Thiago 'Marreta' is an example that moving up can be really good for a fighter. I hope to repeat that.”
