Gastelum Injured, Out of UFC 195

The injury bug has hit welterweight contender Kelvin Gastelum, who has been forced out of his UFC 195 bout against Kyle Noke. Stepping in on January 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena will be Octagon newcomer Alex Morono.

Moving to the main card of the event, which is headlined by the welterweight title fight between Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit, is the lightweight matchup pitting Abel Trujillo against Tony Sims.

An exciting young talent with a background in both Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Texas’ Morono (11-3) comes to the UFC with five consecutive finishes and the desire to add one more to the list in his Octagon debut. Never one to shy away from a tough fight, Noke is showing the best form of his career at 170 pounds, where he has gone 3-1 with spectacular knockouts of Charlie Brenneman and Peter Sobotta.
